CALM AND BRIGHT: 200 YEARS OF SILENT NIGHT
“Glories Stream from Heaven Afar”
Second Sunday of Advent

Joy
Sun. | Dec. 9 | 10AM
Join Rev. Dr. Nancy Wilson’s sermon on the topic of joy. “Joy is born, not from pretending everything is fine, but from holding both hope and truth together. The Christian can stand in that in-between space of indecisiveness, the place of grief, even there with joy. Why? Because joy is the affirmation of the thing that is truer than any trouble, any affliction: the affirmation that Love wins. Jesus is as good as we hope, it’s all worth it, and all will be redeemed”.

“CALM AND BRIGHT:
200 YEARS OF SILENT NIGHT”
Sleep in Heavenly Peace
Sun. | Dec. 2 | 10AM
Join Rev. Vickie Miller in worship as we begin Advent.
Our Advent theme for this year is
Calm and Bright
and is inspired by the 200
th
anniversary of the song,
Silent Night
.  During this first week of Advent we focus on preparing for the Prince of Peace to enter our world.
In 2018, our communities, our churches, and our world are torn and divided by many issues of cultural contention. Perhaps this Christmas could be a time of ceasefire from our own sources of conflict as we celebrate the birth of Christ with spirits of peace and love that transcends all barriers.
